Prayer is our greatest tool.

As you grow in this journey, prayer will become a key climbing tool. Reaching out to God for mercy, grace and courage against evil will become as normal as breathing.
Most of us don’t learn how to pray because life is going well, we learn how to pray because life isn’t going well… and we need help! God uses prayer to connect us with Him, to give us space to be honest before him and to be transformed into His likeness.
I highly recommend “A Praying Life” by Paul Miller to get you started in learning how to pray. I’ve had this book for years and it took this hard journey of transformation for me to understand it’s simplicity and beauty that has become a key building block in my life story and daily routine.
Here are prayers that you can use to help you in times of temptation
Morning Prayer of the Optina Elders, St. Philaret
O LORD, grant me to greet the coming day in peace. Help me in all things to rely upon Your holy will. In every hour of the day reveal Your will to me. Bless my dealings with all who surround me. Teach me to treat all that comes to me throughout the day with peace of soul, and with the firm conviction that Your will governs all. In all my deeds and words guide my thoughts and feelings. In unforseen events let me not forget that all are sent by You. Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering or embarrassing others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue of this coming day with all that it will bring. Direct my will, teach me to pray, pray You Yourself in me.

Psalm 51

For our waste and pollution of your creation, and our lack of
concern for those who come after us,

Restore us, good Lord, and let your anger depart from us;
